A Little NHL Saturday Night Recap – Line Brawls, Strange Goals, and Hat Tricks

flames canucks line brawl

A lot of stuff went down in the NHL Saturday Night. Here’s a little recap of some of the highlights…..

Red Wings 3 – Kings 2 (SO)

This game had a one hell of a strange goal. With about 30 seconds left in the third and the goalie pulled for the Red Wings, a shot from Kromwall was deflected up but hit the protective netting, fell back into play and hit Quick on the back, going into the net. Goal. Then the Wings took the shootout. Tough way to lose for LA.

Canucks 3 – Flames 2 (SO)

The biggest news in this one was the line brawl at the puck drop in for the 1st. Both teams started their 4th lines and everyone knew what that meant.

Torts was mad about that and tried to get his way into the Flames locker room

Sharks 5 – Lightning 4

Marty St. Louis scored 4 goals, 3 in the first period, but lost to the Sharks. He is the oldest player at 38 to score 3 goals in a peroid.

This tweet validates my previous statement.

Joe Pavelski only scored 3 goals for the Sharks, but they get the 2 points.

Those were the biggest stories from Saturday night.

Today @ 12:30 though is a nice Bruins Blackhawks SC Rematch, just what I need before watching Pats Broncos at 3.
