The Gordon Hayward Injury

Wow. Unbelieveable. I’m still having a hard time processing the whole thing. I didn’t see it like. I was actually watching the Yankees game when Aaron Judge was at bat. I came back into my room and saw everyone at the game standing around and heard Reggie Miller comment on the murmuring in the building. I was like “What is going on?”.

So I did the 15 second rewind that Xfinity has, and kept going back and back and then I saw Hayward on the ground. Then I went back once more and saw the play and heard Marv Albert exclaim “Gordon Hayward broke his leg”. And as I was processing what he just said the camera cut to that shot and I was like OMG!

The NBA’s Case of Tighty Whities

As many of you know, Nike is the new uniform supplier for the NBA, taking over for Adidas. New with Nike’s takeover is the use of the maker’s mark on the jerseys themselves.

Previously, with Adidas, Reebok, and other manufacturers, the league kept the logos off the uniforms, allowing only the team and league logos to be present. It was the only league that was like this, but now, they too are like the other major sports.

Celtics Coach Brad Stevens Dunks In Practice

….with the help of a trampoline. But regardless, when do you see a NBA head coach throw down? Like never, right? And ok, it’s not actually like a team practice, but whatever. He dunked. That’s all you need to know.

BTW, just so you know, in case you didn’t, Celtics have the best record in the East since January 23rd.

Celtics Top Clippers in OT, 139-134.

Wow, awesome game. And I only saw the OT live.

Down 6 in the OT, they came back and played tough basketball, thanks to some big shots by Evan Turner. He hit a nice hesitation jumper in the paint, got a nice And-1, and another jumper in the lane.

A big three by Sullinger kinda started this run. It was a ballsy play because Isaiah Thomas had what looked like an easy 2 but he kicked it out to the open Sullinger for the 3.

Check out the stat line for Thomas.

Really nice win. Nice bounce back after that disappointing loss to the Bucks.

This team is fun to watch. They might surprise some people out there, but Boston knows what this team can do.

BTW, as Pierce walked off the TD Garden court, for possibly the last time, he had a nice smile on his face. That in itself is like a little bonus win. Always love Pierce.

The Starburys Are Back! And What Does This Mean Exactly?

NY DAILY NEWS  – Watch out, Yeezy Boost — the Starbury is coming back to the sneaker scene.

Retired NBA player and current Chinese Basketball Association star Stephon Marbury is hoping to re-create the magic he had over the retail world in 2006 by reviving his extremely inexpensive sneakers.

The Coney Island native, 38, unveiled sketches of the $15 high-top sneakers in several posts via Instagram last week, teasing that they are “coming soon.starbury shoes

News hit this week that the Starburys are coming back. And this means two things, well maybe three.

Should the Celtics Go After David Lee?

ESPN – David Lee, who is the second-longest tenured player for the Golden State Warriors and as close to Steph Curry as any member of the newly crowned NBA champions, has likely played his last game for the team, league sources told ESPN on Wednesday.

Sources said the Warriors have privately acknowledged to Lee and his agent, Mark Bartelstein, that it would be unfair to the former All-Star to ask him to continue to serve in a limited role next season after Lee accepted his diminished minutes without complaint all season.

The Celtics are in need of another big man. Lee is a solid player. I know he didn’t play too much in the finals but he did have a good game when Kerr starting him.

Is Carlos Boozer Making Up New Words?

Maybe I’m out of the loop, but I didn’t know of “holdat” until yesterday when I saw Michael Smith and Jemelle Hill discussing it on His & Hers.

They had the same take on it as I do, that it doesn’t really make sense and he says it with a weird accent or something, like Jemelle said, like he’s Scarface.

Anyway, is this “holdat” a new thing that’s here to stay or will it fade away, like Boozer’s hair.

That ESPN Tournament Challenge Commercial? The Song? It IS From Beetlejuice!

If you watch ESPN at all, you have seen this commercial for the NCAA Tournament Challenge. It is actually the same commercial from last year, and last year I heard it and recognized the song. I thought “This sounds like something from Beetlejuice”. Well, this year, I did my research after hearing it, and guess what, is is from Beetlejuice!

The track is Travel Music.

I feel better now knowing this.

That is all.
