He is what he is, a Legend.
Izzy brings up a great question here. Is the hat tip require the hat coming off of the head or is just a tug on the brim good enough? Some people do the “I kinda lift it off of my head but not all the way” thing.
I decided to take a look and see what exactly people do to tip there cap. There where 3 main types. Here’s the abbreviations for all of these.
Here’s the breakdown from the commercial of the people involved (minus crowd shots where there were too many people):
Here’s the final count
So there you have it. The most common type of hat tip is the lifting of the cap. The least common is actually taking the hat off of your head completely. Probably because it takes too much effort I guess, right? We’re all lazy.
As a Red Sox fan, I must say, this is a pretty sweet commercial. Ask any Red Sox fan, there are a handful of Yankees that we like, or for a better term, as the commercial says, respect.
Jeter. Mariano. Torre. Bernie Williams
Maybe Pettitte.
Basically the guys from the 1996-2000 WS titles.
Anyway, back to the commercial.
First of all, GREAT move, even if it’s kind of a no brainer, to have the Red Sox being the opponents. Nice having Lester on the mound. (Although the commercial is already outdated as AJ is gone)
All the cameos were nice to see too. I would have liked a Seinfeld one, I know he’s a Mets guy, but I would just reinforce the whole respect aspect of the commercial. They had everyone from Rudy Guliani to Jay Z, Phil Jackson, Melo, Spike Lee, Billy Crystal, and more. The blurred out faces of the Mets was pretty funny.
Loved the shot of all the retired Yankees and Torre sitting around the table. Awesome.
Mariano, Andy Pettitte, Joe Torre, Tino Martinez, and Jorge Posada.
Now back to baseball. It’s the all star break and yesterday Buchholz threw a complete game, 12 strikeout shutout and Yankees lost to the Orioles in a rain shortened game. It’s all good.
Mt. Rushmore, so hot right now, Mt. Rushmore. Ever since LeBron came out and said he’d be on the NBA Mt. Rushmore, ESPN took off and now every single segment on Sportscenter has a “____ Mt. Rushmore”. The Yankees Mt. Rushmore, NASCAR Mt. Rushmore, you name it, they’ve probably discussed it on ESPN within the last 24 hours.
This is one Mt. Rushmore they didn’t discuss though, so I took it into my own hands to do it. Continue reading “Derek Jeter’s Girlfriend Mt. Rushmore”
